Development Now "contest entry"

A group of students from the American University of Iraq- Sulaimani's Development Now Club posing on top of a tank in Sulaimani, Iraqi Kurdistan. The purpose of the Development Club is to observe, analyze participate in issues related to sustainable development in our community. We visit local NGOs, chat with people in the community, organize local trash clean-ups. In this photo we are at Sulaimani's Red Museum, formerly a prison in which thousands of Iraqis were imprisoned and tortured. In 2007, the prison was converted into a museum and cultural exhibition center. The Red Museum kept many of the tanks and weapons as a memorial to the site's dark past.
